Banded cream with charcoal burns.
Fossil fuel shaped like a diamond
Below her knuckle. Cracked
Under the polish; smooth shell,
Speckled, peppered, flecked.
Dead cells scraped under fingernails,
Pink flesh moulded under frozen tissue
Suspended under glass.
